Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31 1965 is an American actress. When she was 12, she began her career as a model for children. She earned critical acclaim for her part in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teenage period, and was highly praised for her role in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby. Shields was cast in film roles of minor importance and then returned to acting in the 1990s. She also appeared in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), in which she was awarded two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. In 2017 Shields returned to NBC with a recurring part in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the show's 19th season. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields (nee Schmon; 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to the work of William Addams-Reitwiesner, Shields is related to numerous noble families in Italy and particularly Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia of Civitella Cisi is Civitella Cisi was an Italian noblewoman and the daughter of an American prince was Teri's paternal grandmother. Her great-uncle, Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the father of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid a sum by Frank's family to stop the pregnancy.
