Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. Her mother is television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first position in the production department with Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, her CBS subsidiary in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Covering stories on trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she served as an anchor for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for the 9 p.m. news in English and also a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was often asked to serve as a weather and sports anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She also wrote articles to sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She became a sports host for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was a native of the city of Veracruz, Mexico. She was born November 22 on the 22nd of October, 1985, in Mexico City. She has an older sister. In 1992, the family moved to Miami after relocating from Mexico into the US. Soon after the family split up, and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He died from kidney cancer in 2006. Her residence was at Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, where she had been offered a job. Still a senior at high school, but having a clear vision of what she would like to accomplish with her life Antonietta visited the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her requirements. The campus was stunning and provided the education she sought. After graduation, she went to the university as a major in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was student in her class, formed a lasting relationship with her. It was he who inspired her confidence, and his passion in Journalism touched her deeply. As a result, she was determined to exceed his expectations, never letting him down.
